Welcome to my virtual mixed media art studio. My name is Dionne, artist and junk journal creator near Tacoma, Washington.
Here are a few of the pieces I’m proud to share with you today:
As of June 2026, I started working with clay again. I restarted with some trinkets and a monstera leaf trinket dish.
I love painting and building journals because every single one is so different, but working with clay adds depth and new possibilites for textures.
This journal above is my favorite I’ve made so far. Why? Because I took this cover that I thought I’d ruined beyond use when I had just begun crafting journals out of nothing. And also, this is my first journal featuring my own art on the cover. (It’s a copy.)
And now, it’s a colorful and beautiful treasure. The words on the cover sums it up. This has become my own personal journal for recording when I’ve used my wings.
I wanted to make something so different from my normal that it could be anything as long as it was new to me.
The base was a wooden “stadium” piece from a craft store. And I just had to add some moss along with a little branch I’d found on a walk.
This piece reminds me to challenge myself with compassion.
